The last week was full of braaap activities!

The SUMMIT braaap VIP day - Sunday 21st February 2010

On Sunday we  Packed up the family for a bit of braaaping at the Summit near Trafalgar in Gippsland, Everyone had a ball, Emma got to get some training from Sheridan,  Janice - The Missus got her first go on the bike - She did really well and I joined the rest of the braaap boys n girls for some awesome training from the resident braaap coach – Steve Jenkins There was a really good turnout of braaap's and a great day was had by all, I’m sure the next Summit day will be even bigger...I’m also confident that we could get a very competitive braaapVIC team together with all the talent on display - show the Taswegians a thing or two!

Thanks to all at braaap for a great event, see you all there next time!

braaap bike rack test

Had a chance to test the braaap bike rack – basically the bike rack allows you to move your braaapster around without the need of a trailer or ute!

Installation is pretty easy, first of all you will need a towbar package on your car, the rack simply attached to your tow ball and 2 bolts and it’s on. You will also need a couple of ratchet type tie down straps and 2 other straps to secure the wheels onto the rack.

I tested using my braapster Pro on the missus car,  after securing the bike I went for a drive, initially I took it very easy, but after a while I found myself driving pretty normally, you do however need to be aware of the bike on the back, so hooning around corners and over speed bumps is not recommended! I like the rack for it’s easy of use, although you do need to plan to have all the straps etc on hand when loading it up, as the bike is not able to stand by itself once on the rack.

Handy piece of equipment if you dont want the expense of getting a trailer or Ute to move your bike around, also great for the quick trip to a mates place or the track.

Contact your local braaap store for pricing and availability.

Maintenance Stuff:

Now I’m no mechanic, but I hear the braaaps are too easy to maintain, so I thought I would test this out for myself, first task OIL change...well too easy, just remove the sump plug with a 17 ring spanner drain oil, put back sump plug – in goes some nice new oil and all good !!

I also like to keep my bike clean, normally after every use I will either stop at local car wash and give it a quick gurney or if I have more time, I’ll spend a hour or so at home giving it a good clean - if you look after your bike it will last longer and give you heaps more hours of fun!,  I have had many a bloke come up and ask me if I just got a new bike!
